Hello Readers!!!
As you may remember, I have been traveling the world for the past 11 months on a trip called the World Race. I spent about 1 month in each country with my team as we indulged ourselves in the culture and saw His kingdom in the midst. I am very thankful for your love and support that enabled me to go on this journey. Now that I am back in the states, I want to continue pursuing what God called me to.
I’ve always felt most alive while doing Kingdom work whether that was serving at the homeless shelter, co-leading an after-school program with homework help, volunteering in Sunday school ministry, leading Youth Group and Women’s ministry groups, doing physical labor to lend a helping hand, etc. On the Race I got to further serve in Kingdom ministry through a variety of ministries: tutoring and school ministry, orphan and widow care, construction, teaching English classes and Sunday school programs, farm work, etc.
I think I have known for a long time (10+ years) that I was called to the full-time ministry, but like so many others, I ran from the calling, at least partially. I thought I wanted the American Dream life, but over this past year I have surrendered that desire. I’ve learned that “stuff” can bring you entertainment and surface level happiness, but only the Lord can supply long-lasting joy.
While I was in Ecuador on month 6, I received the word “Worship” from the Lord. I began to search further into what the Lord meant and discovered that Worship is a track that is offered by Adventures in Missions in their Center for Global Action Program (CGA). The Worship Track is a learning experience designed for those seeking to focus on knowing and understanding more of the Father’s heart. The track dives into what worship, leading worship, prayer and arts can look like. While on the Race, I rediscovered that I feel closest to the Lord while worshiping Him, and I’m excited to learn more about this.
This is why I am beginning my next journey with CGA. I know that this is where my life is headed and I also know that I need to take time to be trained and equipped for this calling. In my time there, I will be learning what it looks like to strengthen my identity in Christ, gain hands-on experience of how to be a great leader, and learn how to do life more effectively on the mission field. God has not only given me tools but He is also surrounding me with people that are already interested in partnering in this amazing dream with me.
Adventures is a faith-mission and my financial support must come from friends like you who want to help send me out. I need a team of people who want to invest in my time in the CGA through their prayers and their finances. I need $10,500 for my time at the CGA which will be for three semesters over the course of one year.
Please pray about the part that God would have you play as a member of my team. Even if you can’t give, I covet your prayers. I’d love to talk with you about my ministry and the part that you might play in it.
God Bless You,
Misha Shonkwiler
